<div>
Period pain is accepted as a normal part of being a woman, but it’s not actually supposed to be there. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It's your body's way of telling you there is something going on behind the scenes. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Whether it’s as simple as daily stress, or something more complicated like endometriosis, in almost all instances, it is treatable. I know because I address these issues every day. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
If you’re reading this, thinking This is me, know that there are probably a host of symptoms that go with it that you accept as being you! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
These could be headaches with menstruation or mid-monthly pain – whatever your unique body is telling <br />
<a name='more'></a>you, it’s time to listen to its call. Chinese medicine recognizes your period pain and its bag of symptoms will vary among women, because we are all unique beings. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And remember, if you are using the Pill as a means to treat period pain, you should know that it isn't actually treating it at all - it's just masking the problem. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So here are my top 5 tips toward having a pain-free period: </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<b>1. Get the blood flowing – find your stride. </b></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
You need to be gentle at period time – and you need to exercise appropriately. For many, exercise treats period pain wonderfully as it helps blood to flow through the reproductive organs. People who are (what Chinese Medicine diagnose as) "blood deficient" (meaning that they don't have adequate blood stores – think low Iron, low blood pressure types) may benefit most from this. These people are more likely to complain of draggy or dull pain, they can be dizzy or faint, cold and look pale. They may also find their menstrual blood looks pale and diluted. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<b>2. Ease pain with tea.</b> </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The heat from the tea will help increase blood flow and alleviate pain but more than that, there are many teas that are specifically therapeutic. Chamomile is mildly sedative which helps to relax the body and ease pain. Raspberry leaf tea can also be useful to relax the uterus. Making a brew with ginger can also be soothing. Studies show that ginger lowers pain-causing prostaglandins. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<b>3. Cut the cold cuisine. </b></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Cold and raw foods can contribute to menstrual cramping. Chinese Medicine recognizes cramping pain to be a result of blood not flowing freely, that is there is either a blockage or something (tissue, scaring etc) disrupting the flow. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
You might have heard the term "cold in the uterus." People who present this way experience intense period pain that responds well to warmth and sometimes pressure, darker clotted blood flow. They are generally cold, especially in the lower abdomen at the period time. Switching to warmer foods in the pre-menstrual window is a great way to help keep symptoms under control - but remember, if it's bad, it's time to get it looked at by your natural fertility specialist.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<b>4. Sleep to cope. </b></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Schedule in a little extra sleep around the period time. When we are tired, we experience increased sensitivity, and we cope much better when well rested. Plus a lack of sleep leads to mad cravings (very often cold and sugary foods), which, as we’ve seen, contribute to pain.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<b>5. Eat for relief.</b> </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Foods can contribute to pain. Generally, whole foods are always going to make your body happy. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Foods that are high in fiber and good fats keep the bowels happy. If the bowel is strained, the pain can be worse as both the uterus and bowel receive the same nerve innervation and can restrict the blood flow. So keeping it regular helps to ease pain. The top few include:</div>
<div>
Salmon</div>
<div>
Olive Oil</div>
<div>
Nuts and seeds (soaked is best)</div>
<div>
Green leafy veggies</div>
<div>
Aromatic spices - think turmeric, ginger, ground mustard, pepper </div>
<div>
If pain is really bad - it might be time to explore your options and find a solution that works for you. Remember to be kind to your body in the menstrual window: slow and gentle is key!</div>

here at the university town of Nsukka, in Enugu State, Nigeria, drinking
a bottle of Fayrouz and listening to the sound of the generator, which
is the only source of electricity around here.I have watched your latest
music video. I went through the rigour last night. It is the video of
the song entitled “Don’t Tell Me Nonsense” and it was awfully
disgusting, the song, I mean. Kaffy and the rest of the dancers didn’t
disappoint in the video.<br /> This is bad, I know, using awful and
disgusting, in same sentence. But that is what I feel about what I saw.
Brother, D’Banj, a lot has changed since you left your brother and
hustle partner, Ajereh, Michael Collins AKA Don Jazzy. Truth. Your songs
have been nothing but trash. I wonder if anyone has said anything nice
to you since you started making songs outside Don Jazzy. If they have,
it must have been for that singular hit song entitled ‘Oliver Twist.’
Kai! That song swept through Nigeria and the rest of the world. You
would not believe that the ordinary child on the streets of Nsukka knows
the lyrics of that song and the dance steps too. <br /><br /> In Nigeria,
there are plenty factors that weigh us down. One is our inability to
manage our weaknesses. I see you have been buying yourself expensive
jewelleries. The other day, I saw on a blog that you wear a </div>
<a name='more'></a>wristwatch
worth my entire family and maybe inheritance. I commend your taste. You
are a lucky and hardworking man. You deserve it, besides; ‘Oliver Twist’
made marks. It took the Nigerian music to a height that had never been
seen in recent times. Its toping charts, downloads, Youtube views and
itunes purchases are amongst the few things I can mention. <br /><br />Dear,
D’Banj, Don Jazzy may not be an ideal partner, I bet you, no one is an
ideal partner! Perfect couples quarrel and make up. It is the joy of
having such union. I believe misunderstanding is part of us, as humans. I
will run to the zoo the day I see a union that agrees on almost
everything.Back to your music, I feel Don Jazzy was made to make good
music with you. He may not only be your producer, but whatever input,
from advice, to production, will go a long way. Besides, he has been
miserable too, without you. I have seen his eyes in music videos. There
is one he did with Tiwa Savage. Ah, Tiwa. She looked dazzling, while Don
Jazzy looked wanting and dispirited. Tiwa may have a perfect voice but
Don Jazzy has not been able to achieve what he did with you. The other
boys, K-Switch, Wande Coal and the goody bag crooner, D’Prince are
unfortunate learners.<br /> They must be stark illiterates to have taken
sides when you guys parted. I understand their ignorance. But my concern
here is, if you wish to stay relevant in the sight of Nigerians, making
good music, and not caressing a stripper on stage on your birthday,
then you have to make amends with Don Jazzy and understand that people
argue because they are beneficial to themselves. Only dummies agree on
everything.<br /> I think tribalism had a lot to play in your split. It is
a sad reality, if I am right. Tribalism will eventually destroy
Nigeria. Our young people think they belong to a superior tribe and so
make silly comments which sometimes bring about misconception and then
crisis. I once had a boss, who is Igbo, who felt my tribe’s men were
lazy, just because she came to my state and saw a job and was privileged
to be a high ranking staff. I have had people who think those from the
north should be gatekeepers and cobblers. Someone called me a militant
once in Abuja, at the Sheraton, when he discovered I was from the
Niger-Delta. I forgave his gross stupidity. I think we should drink a
cup of water when ignorant people say rubbish about our personalities or
flaws and relate it to tribe.<br /> You are a great young man, D’Banj.
Few people have attained the height you have. I am encouraged to pursue
what I am currently pursuing because I know I will triumph. Your likes
and that of 2Face Idibia, despite your weaknesses are heroes. And you
must recall that Kanye West met you because he had heard good stuff from
you. When nothing good manifests, he may be forced to give you a new
job description at Good Music, which may be mopping of the floor of the
studio. This evil will not befall you. If you believe it, type amen. <br /><br />D’Banj,
pride is the worst enemy of any man who wishes to last longer anywhere.
A drop of arrogance may work, but pride is detrimental. You were called
the ‘entertainer’ because you offered entertainment. Today, Inyanya,
Kcee, Flavour, Wizkid and Davido are doing better. Imagine Burna-Boy,
chai, that boy has some senses oh. His music, even when he is talking
nonsense makes you want to sit and listen or dance to it, as the case
may be. The only person that is yet to outshine you is my dearest
sister, Tontolet Dike. That girl needs Jesus. <br /><br />I have to go back
to my drink. I paid for it and it is almost missing me. I enjoy your
struggle or hustle, as you may choose to call it. I wish to hear
something profound from you. While awaiting that miracle that only you
can perform, I wish you the very best of life.<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://naijamayor.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/couple-arguing.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="http://naijamayor.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/couple-arguing.jpg" border="0" class="decoded" src="http://naijamayor.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/couple-arguing.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
We all know that relationships can be tough. They begin with an awkward dating period where both persons are on their best behavior. After a few months, those curtains start to unravel and you begin to see shadows of the real person.<br /><br />Men often make a number of relationship blunders during these crucial initial phases, and we’re here to help you recognize the ten worst ones. If you’re just getting started in a relationship, or part of a long-term affair, get pen and paper. (Or, you could just print it!). You’ll want to keep track of these tips.<br /><br /><b>Giving a woman too much power</b>.<br />Guys usually get into trouble when they allow a woman to have too much (if not all) of the control in a relationship. She decides when you go out; she decides when you have s*x; she decides which friends you can keep; and may even decide what color slacks you should wear to a party.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />These types of scenarios are classic examples of a man believing that he doesn’t deserve to be with a certain type of woman, or that he is in no position to make decisions on his own. If you’re a good man and deserve a good woman — you deserve a good relationship. Swinging the power surge closer to a 50-50 deal would be more beneficial for you. An even platform feels a whole lot better than a 80-20 deal — and you can’t afford to be on the 20 end of the spectrum.<br /><b><br />Trying to invoke too much of your own control.</b><br />Even though it is not recommended that you relinquish complete control of your relationship to the lady in your life, you also should not hoard it all for yourself. Power struggles can create a competitive environment, and there is no place for competition in a relationship. Truth be told, most people like some level of control in their lives and this includes relationships with significant others.<br /><br />You should definitely try to work within respectable levels when it comes to control. Whether it’s your heavy-handed decision-making or a demanding attitude — women don’t like controlling men and a controlling guy reeks of insecurity.<br /><br /><b>Believing that the good you do today will last until tomorrow.</b><br />Women have short memories. Flowers and candy mean that you love her today — but tomorrow is a new day and a new chance for you to prove your love all over again. A man tends to linger on his good motives and can’t understand it when his sweetie throws a hissy-fit while wearing the new dress he bought just three days ago.<br /><br />Being a good boy scout doesn’t mean you are no longer obligated to do your chores. Keep doing the things you know are necessary for relationship success. Women appreciate good deeds, but they appreciate continuous good deeds even more.<br /><br /><b>Being domineering or overly possessive.</b><br />If your mate tells you that she likes possessive, egotistical, iron-fisted dictators – then you’re in for the perfect relationship — (If your name is Joseph Stalin). However, most women can’t handle the jealous types and no woman wants to be told what to do.<br /><br />Biblical principles tell us that a man should lead. However, this duty assignment calls for an enormous amount of responsibility and maturity. A man should never believe that his mate is beneath him spiritually, or emotionally – and relationship bonds should not turn women into possessions.<br /><b><br />Allowing family members or friends to dictate what happens in the relationship.</b><br />This is an absolute NO-NO. If you are married and allow your in-laws to have any measure of control over your relationship, you are undoubtedly treading on paper-thin ice.<br /><br />Your wife should not be subjected to this either. Even if she allows you to take a bossy tone with her, she most certainly doesn’t appreciate it coming from your mama; your aunts; your cousins; or anyone else in your family. Women don’t like being told what to do (see Mistake #4), and it irks them even more when it’s coming from another woman.<br /><br />You should not allow your wife’s family to make decisions that directly affect your relationship. Everybody has an opinion, but it’s the couple’s opinions that matter most. Outside opinions or ideas shouldn’t be used to influence your relationship bond.<br /><br /><b>Always kissing up.</b><br />She’s your beautiful queen. A sugar-dumplin’, honey-spiced, chocolate bunny pie. But she’s also a human being. Which means if she commands respect, she also has the ability to return it.<br /><br />Some people deserve respect simply because they exist:<br /><br />a) Your mother – because she’s a woman and ushered your nappy-head into the world.<br />b) Women in general – because they’re women and the Good Bible tells us that we’re supposed to be respectful of the female entity.<br /><br />Outside of this basic level of respect, all other respect is earned. Don’t be so apologetic (unless you’ve really screwed up); don’t assume that she’s always right; and don’t take the blame for something that isn’t your fault.<br /><br />More importantly, don’t place your lady on such a high pedestal that she forgets where the ground is. A truly level-headed sista wouldn’t want to be that high, and may eventually resent being in a relationship with a big pushover.<br /><br /><b>Complacency.</b><br />If you are not exactly where you want to be in your life (financially, academically, or spiritually) — it’s okay. Women tend to focus more on the future, so you shouldn’t worry about having the world in your palm when you first meet.<br /><br />Over time, most women will expect to see some progress and eventually some results. Try not to sit idle as life passes you by. Even if you’re not the biggest fish in the pond, being tenacious and goal-oriented is all any woman could ask for. If she’s asking for more, you might want to reconsider who you’re with.<br /><br /><b>Choosing a woman based on appearance alone.</b><br />This is really dangerous, but all men know that it is difficult to look past the sexiness.<br /><br />Physical attraction is extremely important, and men sometimes forget to investigate the other critical attributes they desire in a woman. Since we are from the ‘Planet of Imagery’, male judgment is often clouded in the beginning of a relationship. A man’s interest in physical compatibility may keep him from thinking about those other crucial attributes until it’s too late.<br /><br />Don’t forget about essential qualities like compassion, compatibility, and whether or not she makes any sense when she speaks.<br /><br /><b>Placing someone (anyone) or something before your mate.</b><br />This includes friends, relatives (See Mistake #5), co-workers, animals, your car, or your hobbies.<br /><br />Granted, there will be times when you would like to hang with the boys, or occasions when you have extra work to do on some new project. But those things should never hold more meaning than your relationship. When a woman feels that someone or something is more important than she is, you may have problems getting her to respond to anything you have to say.<br /><br /><b>Yielding to temptation from other women.</b><br />For some odd reason, women are frequently more attracted to men who are attached or already married. This isn’t a good thing if you’re in a strong relationship and have a weakness for lust. Your wife or girlfriend isn’t stupid — she knows that you can’t help but look at other women from time to time. But that’s as far as it goes.<br /><br />If the tempter is cognizant of the situation and isn’t a woman of good moral character — (and she likely isn’t since she’s obviously seeking to tempt), she may not care about disrupting your relationship — especially if she knows you’re interested in stepping out of line.<br /><br />Be vigilant when this happens. It takes a lot of patience and integrity to go against the grain. Being tempted is natural — yielding to it is stupid.<br />Àjumọ̀kẹ́http://www.blogger.com/profile/02058431679878687958noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5492093759138150606.post-73721518183492446012013-06-20T12:00:00.000+01:002013-06-20T12:00:01.714+01:00NOLLYWOOD INDECENCY STAR AFROCANDY REVEALS 18 YEARS-OLD DAUGHTER ANNABELLE MAZAGWU<br />

<br />
WWD is reporting that Italian judge Judge Antonella Brambilla has ruled that designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana will serve one year and eight months in jail for tax evasion. (Depending on how that jail time would span, it could conceivably cover at least four major fashion seasons).<br />
<img height="329" id="irc_mi" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wbw6NPtHNxU/T3He7ox85_I/AAAAAAAAF7c/WxgLcxaLjl0/s1600/dolce-and-gabbana-2010_356e4e4b985b570a14edff893704ce92_816.jpg" style="margin-top: 84px;" width="470" /><br />
The prosecution had initially requested that the designers each serve two and a half years, while also requesting time for Domenico's brother and board member Alfonso Dolce, board member and general director Cristiana Ruella, and finance director Giuseppe Minoni. Dolce & Gabbana's accountant, Luciano Patelli, may be sentenced to three years as the "main orchestrato of the evasion scheme," per WWD. Charges stem from the 2004 sale of Dolce & Gabbana brands to the Luxembourg-based company Gado Srl, which prosecutors allege was done for the sole purpose of evading Italian taxes.<br />
<br />
This jail time is on top of a $440 million fine levied in 2012 related to the same charges. The designers' tax troubles date back to 2010, when they were first slammed with the lawsuit that was initially dropped due to lack of evidence before being reopened by the Italian Supreme Court last year.<br />
<br />
Dolce and Gabbana are expected to appeal the decision; the Twitter hashtag #freedolceandgabbana has already taken off.<br />

<br />
<br />
Do you guys remember Dekunle Fuji of "lelelelele, mo like Jesu gan, mo nife Jesu gan..." that beautiful gospel fuji song. Well, in the search for greener pastures, the popular Nigerian gospel fuji musician, Dekunle Fuji is now a certified nurse in the US.<br />
<br />
The former Storm Records artiste who several years ago was a toast in the gospel scene is now based in the US State of New Jersey where he went through a nursing course to become a qualified nurse.<br />
<br />
The former artiste had left Nigeria for a show in the US in 2011. Getting to the US, Dekunle began considering the thought of settling down in the States. In no time he quickly applied for a nursing course and finished with the course a few months ago.<br />
<br />
Prior to his sojourn in the US, the musician (although does not like to be referred to as a gospel artiste) had joined the Nigerian Police Force even before moving to the US.<br />
<br />
‘Dekunle had joined the police force where he was appointed a senior officer because of his qualification. It just so happened that his travelling came through just about the same time the Police force had employed him’, the source said.<br />
<br />
We also discover that in the US, the musician turned nurse is still taking up shows in churches and crusades where he gets paid up to about $5000 (N790000) per performance....Àjumọ̀kẹ́http://www.blogger.com/profile/02058431679878687958noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5492093759138150606.post-79995282396868673442013-06-19T15:00:00.000+01:002013-06-19T15:00:00.641+01:00QUEEN GLOBE 2013: 10DESIGNERS, 30MODELS 4QUEENS 1RUNWAY 1EVENT<img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Cdfia7TgbUk/UcD3trQ4slI/AAAAAAAByDI/QGO93bOmLvw/s1600/Queen+Globe+New+2.jpg" /><br />

<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">Kanye West insists he did not cheat on Kim Kardashian with Canadian model, Leyla Ghobadi, telling TMZ, the woman accusing him of being unfaithful is just out for some easy publicity.</span><br style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;" /><br style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;" /><span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">Leyla recently did an interview claiming she had sex with Kanye after meeting him at one of his concerts in July 2012 and that Kanye confessed his relationship to Kim was a publicity stunt.</span><br style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;" /><br style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;" /><span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">But a rep for Kanye told TMZ it's all lies. "This most recent attack on Kanye West and his family is totally without merit. It's a blatant attempt by a misguided individual who is clearly seeking publicity, and another in a series of malicious stories drummed up by non-credible 'news' sources. This is a sad attempt to hurt two people trying to live their lives."</span>Àjumọ̀kẹ́http://www.blogger.com/profile/02058431679878687958noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5492093759138150606.post-16898458113485070712013-02-14T23:46:00.001+01:002013-02-14T23:46:51.304+01:00NIGERIAN POP SINGER "GOLDIE HARVEY" IS DEADÀjumọ̀kẹ́http://www.blogger.com/profile/02058431679878687958noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5492093759138150606.post-61677919570971073112013-02-06T00:20:00.001+01:002013-02-06T00:20:15.370+01:00PHOTOS: TIWA SAVAGE FINALLY SAID "YES" TO TEEBILLZ'S PROPOSAL<div class="imageStage" id="imagestage">

<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye is a living legend. Popularly referred to as King Sunny Ade, has spent 40 years of his 66 years on stage doing what he loves best-singing and dancing.</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<img alt="ksa-360x250" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-48324" height="444" src="http://cdn.informationnigeria.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/ksa-360x250.jpg?9d7bd4" style="border: 0px none; height: auto; list-style: none; margin: 0px; max-width: 100%; outline: none; padding: 0px;" width="640" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
His genre of music is Juju. This is also laced with a dance-inspiring hybrid of western pop and traditional African music with roots in the guitar tradition of Nigeria. He recorded successes as he did in his early 1980s albums and American tours.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
The Ondo-State born and his band, African Beats, remain relevant in the society especially among his teeming fans.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
In this interview, he speaks about his music.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">You have been playing music for over 40 years and you are still agile, what would you attribute that to?</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
I believe it is the work of God. I love music and I love dancing. From a young age, I used to go to church with my mother and I will be in the centre dancing until the music stops.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">So, you don’t use stimulants before going on stage?</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
I have God-given strength. Because of the love I have for music, I do not think I have to stimulate myself to dance or perform. Besides, in my house, I do so many exercises to keep me agile.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Looking back at when you began music, did you think the KSA brand was going to be this successful?</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
No, my intention then was just to play music for people to dance because I dance to other people’s music. Due to the acceptance I received, I started understudying other people and I began to separate good from bad. From the age of five, I decided not to smoke or drink because I do not even like the smell of cigarette. I do not like people fighting or arguing. I am an easygoing person.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Did your parents support your decision to embrace music?</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
It took me almost 20 years for my parents to accept my choice of profession because they saw me as a drop-out. When I came to Lagos in 1962, I did not know anybody except a band member that we played together with Moses Olaiya (Baba Sala). I was still in school but the love of music made me come to Lagos to join Olaiya who played Juju music. He does not smoke or drink. It was like me meeting someone I could model my distaste for cigarette and drinks after.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
I have not encountered anything that can make me more energetic than what God has given me. When I hear good music and I see people around me, it makes me want to get wings to fly. That is how joyous I become.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Do you get the urge to retire from music and do something else?</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
At one time, I decided to go into filming or just do something else but it was my fans that bombarded me with messages that I could just not turn my back on music. Then, I stopped but, I have other businesses that are related to music like a recording studio and printing press, which I have people running. Because it is music that gave me fame, I am still very much involved in it.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
As long as my fans still say they want me and are not tired of me, who am I to say I will retire? If I retire now, who will feed me?</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Did you have a privileged upbringing?</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
My father died when I was young and my mother and her sister took over. They had a local restaurant where they catered for almost 600 people in the morning and at night in Araromi, Osogbo. I grew up there and I was never hungry.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
Years later, my mother fell ill and the business crumbled. It was then I had the feeling that something had gone wrong.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
The good thing was that all along, I never liked food and rarely ate. My mother would give me a small portion of food and would even beg me to eat it and that is where I got the nickname, kajekaje which means, ‘eat it eat it.’ I would just be staring at the food, turn my plate in circles while imagining all kinds of things.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">When did you experience your first major breakthrough?</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
That was when I released the album, Challenge Cup. But I would not call it a breakthrough because the record earned me recognition among fans. I did not have instruments then and I started the band with friends.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
My first instrument was given to me by Chief Tunde Amuwo; he was a friend to my band leader, Olaiya.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">You have had a rosy career, were there any challenges that are hard to forget?</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
There are many but I will not say one is worse than the rest. So many things happen especially when you have a big band but in all, give glory to God. There have been times when my band broke up and my band members would just disappear especially when they want to form a new band.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
Sometimes, when we travel abroad for shows, they elope because people have advised them wrongly that it is better to live abroad. At the end of the day, they run into trouble abroad, come back to Nigeria but they cannot return to the band again.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">How was it like having Ebenezer obey as your rival?</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
He is my friend. The press came up with that assumption. I have every cause to thank God that he is someone who understands because my mission is to make sure that all musicians love each other. In those days, musicians do not eat together, they do not sit together, they do not talk together, and if you meet at shows, it is trouble.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
When I started music, we were lucky that we rose about the same time and one day, I went to his house and I said ‘senior it is me, what is the solution to all the enmity among musicians?’ We spoke for about two hours. It did not go down well with our fans that we had to manage but now, we are brothers.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">You have recorded over a hundred albums. Which would you consider your best and why?</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
The best is yet to come but the one I treasure most, the one I compare with the first time I knew a woman, is my very first album titled, Alanu ni Oluwa (God is merciful). I did not believe I could record an album. The day I heard it on radio, I started calling everybody and telling them Sunny Ade is on the radio. We recorded the album at NBC in Ikoyi. That day, I and members of my band (eight of us) prostrated on the ground for the engineer to play the song on radio five or eight times. We started dancing. Even though the report was that the record sold only thirteen copies, we were still happy.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">You have a peculiar dance step when you are on stage. Did you learn it somewhere or was it your idea?</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
The dance came to me and I took it. I started doing it and people said it was different from other dances, so I stuck to it. All I had to do was to improve on it.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">You loved your mother so much that she cooked for you instead of your wives</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
There was no special reason other than the fact that she did not want my any of my wives to get jealous.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
One day after cooking for me, she told one of my wives to take the food to me and you need to see how she made a show of it with the intention of making her co-wives jealous.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">So who cooks your meal now that she is dead?</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
At least 20 years before her demise, I got a cook. At one point, she could no longer cook for me because of old age but she still supervised my meal from her room, which was opposite the kitchen.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
In fact, you must not sweat when you are cooking my meal. You would have to leave the food, clean your face, and continue the cooking. This she did so that the sweat does not drop into the food.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Are you still looking at taking another wife?</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
If they ask me that question, you should say enough is enough or do you still want someone to have babies for me?</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Are you grooming a successor?</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
I leave that in the hands of the Lord. All my children are performers but they know that they must go to school. I have one who calls himself Prince Sunny Ade. I even have some of my grandchildren who perform with me sometimes. Because they are very little, they do not go to night shows and only perform for five or ten minutes.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">Do you have a special diet that helps to keep you fit?</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
I do not have any and I love to eat eba and any other food that comes my way but I do not eat much. My fans are telling me I am putting on weight. I told them I am still on track but they want to see me the way I was about ten years ago.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">What is your assessment of the current crop of artistes we have now?</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
I cannot tell you categorically if in many years time, their music would be referred to as evergreen. Only the fans can tell. When I started music, I did not know my songs would become evergreen. As a musician, will your music remain relevant 20 years after?</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">What do you do for relaxation?</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
The only time I relax is when I am asleep. I play golf, tennis, lawn tennis, and badminton. I go from Lagos to play golf in Shagamu, from there to Ibadan then Ada, to Ado-Ekiti and Abuja. I used to play squash in my house but I stopped when I was 60.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">What would you like to be remembered for?</strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
I want to be remembered as one of the pioneers of good music. Also, for playing the guitar. About 10 or 15 years ago, I was ranked number 69 in the whole world and number one in Africa for playing the guitar.</div>

<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">2. “That was great.”</strong> Listen, nobody’s pointing fingers. Sometimes bad s*x is a no-fault proposition. But if it’s not good for her, it’s altogether possible she may not be enlightening you on that matter. Whether she’s just not that into it tonight or she’s just not that into you, it’s hard for some women to be frank about s*x, especially when the news isn’t good. Rely on her body language instead.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">3. ”I have never nor would I ever cheat on you.”</strong> Do you remember that show on VH1, “Tough Love: Couples“? The number one cause of screaming fights? Cheating. Or, more specifically, lying about cheating. It’s not easy to tell someone when you’ve messed up; the fallout can be brutal. Remember: What you don’t know can spare you.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">4. “I weight [X].”</strong> Here’s the thing. Women don’t lie about their weight because of you. Their reasons for doing it have everything to do with them. Not all women lie about their weight, but some do, and they do it for all kinds of reasons. Because they want to weigh less, because they want to weigh more, because they’re not sure and that number sounds about right. Women and their weight are a mysterious relationship with which you may not want to interfere. Take her word for it.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">5. “Sure, you can call me.” </strong>Sometimes, when we’re face-to-face with a guy, and he’s asking us out on a first or for a second date, it’s tough to, er, woman-up and say, “You know what? Um, no.” We don’t want to be heartbreakers. We want to be nice. We’re sure you’ll get the message when we never call you back.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">6. “I’ll be ready in a minute.”</strong> Listen, if before you left the house to go out on a date, you had to shower, shave half your body, slather yourself in moisturizer, apply 99 overpriced products, put on several layers of makeup, flat-iron your hair, pick out the perfect outfit that makes you look sophisticated/sexy/spectacular, it would take you a long time to get ready, too. So, wait.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">7. “I don’t know.”</strong> We don’t know (ha!) if we’re going to get a lot of agreement on this one, but we are of the opinion that a lot of times when a woman says, “I don’t know,” she does, in fact, know. Women are intuitive like a nuclear power plant is radioactive, and it is upon our internal sonars that we rely. Mostly, we do know. We may not be ready to tell you.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">8. “That was delicious!”</strong> If you cooked, we don’t care how it tastes. We will tell you we love it. Love us for that.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">9. “I’m fine.”</strong> We’re going to go out on a limb here and suggest this is the single most common lie told by women to men. Or, you know, at the very least it’s the lie we’ve told most often to men. We are emotional creatures! Sometimes, we get upset! Maybe it’s because our Aries is in your Venus, maybe it’s because we got promoted at work and we’re scared as hell about living up to our own lofty goals, or maybe we’re in a mood. It’s up to you to figure out if you want to walk into our minefield or keep a safe distance away. Usually, your best bet is listening.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; color: #333333; font-family: 'Droid Sans', Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; list-style: none; outline: none; padding: 1em 0px;">
<strong style="border: 0px none; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px;">10. “It was on sale.”</strong> It wasn’t. Deal with it.</div>

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-s3JsrFPSugE/UOlwoOdsyOI/AAAAAAAAAD4/i7gOEijHdyo/s1600/182386_440307682702059_794057430_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-s3JsrFPSugE/UOlwoOdsyOI/AAAAAAAAAD4/i7gOEijHdyo/s400/182386_440307682702059_794057430_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #444444; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; margin-bottom: 8px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<strong style="font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;">Do I want to be a model</strong><br />Despite the glamour and hype you have seen about the modeling profession, it's hard work. It's boring (sometimes) and it can be tedious. Prepared to be constantly rejected, get ready for some major ups and downs. Modelling is a lifestyle, not an 9-5 job. Not all jobs pay well. Unless you are seriously committed about modeling, willing to work at it on your own time, live a healthy life style, etc., you will not succeed as a model.<br />You have to understand that there are lots of other people who want to be models, it's a very competitive business. Are you willing to put the time and energy into competing with pretty much everyone you meet, 24 hrs a day?<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #444444; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; margin-bottom: 8px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<strong style="font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;">Where do I start</strong><br />You'll need a modeling portfolio, I'm sure you'll all know what one of those is but for those that don't it's basically a selection of pictures showing yourself in different outfits and poses. The standard size for the photos is 9 by 12 inches and you'll need around 10 - 12 photos. Make sure you focus on quality rather than quantity, remember, you're only as good as your worst photo. Make sure your portfolio has a selection of both head shots and full body shots. Make sure you get a variety of different looks such as swimwear, catalogue and lingerie, you get the idea, also get a couple of black and white shots in there. Avoid using pictures of the same shot.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #444444; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; margin-bottom: 8px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
It can be very advantageous to have photographs from different photographers in a portfolio. This will show the versatility in terms of styles and it will prove that a model can work with a variety of different people. Obviously, the cost of hiring different photographers for a portfolio is prohibitive, but there are many excellent photographers out there who will do prints for time - and of course many more bad ones. If you research what's on offer well, it can be an excellent alternative.<br />Before going ahead with a photo session ask to look at the photographers portfolio to see if you like his style of photography. No doubt if you go to the photographers studio to book the appointment he will have examples of his work on display anyway. If you've never done modelling before this will also be an excellent practice run for you. Avoid photographers wanting to take nude shots, if possible take a friend with you to the shoot.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #444444; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; margin-bottom: 8px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<strong style="font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;">The Comp Card</strong><br />You'll definately need one of these. A comp card is what your modelling agency will use to market you.<br />What is a comp card? A composite card (sometimes called a ZED) is a model's business card. In most cases, your comp card is your one and only opportunity to make a good first impression. With that in mind it is important that the images on your card are your absolute best and nothing less. Additionally, the printing and reproduction quality is extremely important. Poor reproduction makes your images look bad and as a result - makes you look bad. Besides a great head-shot, the comp card will have other photos that show your experience, your versatility, range, and what type of work you are seeking. For best results all of the photos should be the highest quality you can obtain at your stage in your modeling career. Make sure the you have them printed on rigid card that will withstand a bit of wear and tear.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #444444; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; margin-bottom: 8px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<strong style="font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;">Be careful!</strong> Do NOT have a modeling agency print your comp card. If you do - they will put their logo on it. You are going to want to sign with as many agencies as possible if you are serious about getting work. Comp card printing can get expensive - print them yourself and give each agency copies - they have stickers that they can put on them with their contact information and you will save money.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #444444; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; margin-bottom: 8px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<strong style="font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;">The Agency </strong><br />An agency or co-ordinator should represent models. The model must have a portfolio, and comp cards. The agency/coordinator provides you with work (That is their main purpose. It is safe to say that they work for you!) They make a commission on your fee.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #444444; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; margin-bottom: 8px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
GOLDEN RULE - Don't go with an agency who asks for money up front! You'll probably never hear from them again and I ceratainly doubt you'll ever get any work from them.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #444444; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; margin-bottom: 8px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
Also check to see if they are reputable and genuine. The agency/coordinator provides you with a safe working environment and looks after legalities of the paper work for the job. They provide their clients with "Professional" models. Keep copies of all-important papers, such as contracts etc. You may need these if you have a dispute with the agency/coordinator. It is wise to choose the agency/coordinator carefully so you can stay with that them.<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #444444; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; margin-bottom: 8px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<strong style="font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;">How do I approach an agency?</strong><br />The oldest way to go about it is to visit them. Book an appointment ahead of time by phone. Bring at least 2 pictures. They don't have to be professional pictures. A head shot, natural and clear. Also a full length shot that somewhat reveals your figure, a clingy dress , swimsuit, figure flattering clothes or other tight fittings garments should be worn. Forget about baggy clothes! It will tip off viewers that you have something to hide. Ask lots of questions. A sk to see what work their models are currently doing? Ask for names and phone number of clients and call them to verify the information, be concerned if they promise you work right away or promise you high salaries. If they don't allow you time to think about it or if they use pressure techniques to sign the contract, be concerned. They should not ask for money up-front for classes or training. Be concerned if the they claim to be looking for ordinary people. Reputed agencies/coordinators might have open interviews during the week, give them a call and find out.</div>
<b style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #333333; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; text-align: justify;">Our Top Ten Modeling tips </b><span style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #333333; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; text-align: justify;"></span><br style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #333333; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; text-align: justify;" /><b style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #333333; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; text-align: justify;">1.</b><span style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #333333; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px; text-align: justify;"> Always be on time, if you cannot, be let the Photographer know. Punctuality is very important."safety tip": If you are not taking anyone with you to the shoot, let someone know where you are and with whom. And be sure to tell the photographer that someone knows where you are.</span><div style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #444444; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; margin-bottom: 8px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<b>2.</b> Always go prepared : ie...clothing changes that you know will fit you. Don't always think that he/she will have everything that is needed for the shoot.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #444444; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; margin-bottom: 8px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<b>3.</b> Always take your own make-up; even if he/she has told you there will be a make-up artist there. Always think of the could be's.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #444444; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; margin-bottom: 8px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<b>4.</b> Get references, as many as you can. That would include other models and/or assignments that the photographer has had. Check and double check. And be sure that a legitimate photographer is doing the same with you. Never take anything for granted.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #444444; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; margin-bottom: 8px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<b>5.</b> Get phone numbers and addresses if possible, if he/she is hesitant. You might want to rethink the shoot.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #444444; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; margin-bottom: 8px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<b>6.</b> Make sure that you know exactly what the shoot consists of, and never feel pressured to do anything that you do not feel comfortable doing. If nothing else, go by your gut feeling.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #444444; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; margin-bottom: 8px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<b>7.</b> Always take along enough "cash" for cab fare etc. In case the photographer cannot provide adequate transportation. Most will, but always be prepared for the "just in case".</div>
<div style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #444444; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; margin-bottom: 8px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<b>8.</b> Keep in mind that modeling is a business, not a personal venture. You need to be prepared to negotiate with prospective employers, regarding everything from pay to content. Don't just drop out of contact because you don't like what's offered - either negotiate or say, "Thanks, but no thanks." You never know, the employer you turn down could well have your dream job later - and if you treat him or her rudely or with disrespect, you'll likely miss out.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f3f3f3; margin-bottom: 8px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<b style="color: #444444; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px;">9.</b><span style="color: #444444; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px;"> Don't ever do anything that you might be sorry for later. What you do today can affect your career later down the road. "If you pose for a photo that you cannot show your family and friends, and be proud of it, it wasn't worth doing". Mainly YOU should be proud of it.</span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: #f3f3f3; color: #444444; font-family: Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 16px; margin-bottom: 8px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<b>10.</b> If you have a verbal or signed agreement on traveling expenses etc. Make sure that it is followed up on. Written is sometimes the best.</div>
